My 3yo old DD got bit by an ant last night between two fingers. Today the top of her hand is swollen. Then entire top of her hand. Fingers look fine.

Is there anything I should do? No fever, her fingers are fine. She said it itches, and that's about it.

You can put some hydrocortisone cream on the ant bite.

Okay, we did that =). She requested bandaids to be all over her hand, lol. It seems to make boo-boo's go away faster ;)

Oh I swell up like a balloon whenever I get bit by an ant. I don't know why, but I do. I hate it. I just put some benedryl cream on it and it goes away eventually.

    Besides the meds...

When I am concerned about a bug bite, I outline the edges with a fine tip sharpie so that I can tell for sure if it swells more. This is what our doc told me to do - works great.

the bite itself isn't swollen. it's right between two fingers. the enitre top of her hand is swollen though. i don't think it's possible for her hand to swell more! her fingers look totally fine.
