Did the 4th of July throw up or does it look good?

I have always always always wanted a red white & blue kitchen. Red appliances, blue rugs... anything I can find! With the 4th of July just around the corner I am finding more and more things. So I was wondering when people see my kitchen are they always going to think I am stuck in the 4th of July or can it look classy and patriotic all year round? I wish I had pictures to show what I'm thinking. I won't have more than one flag but it will all be those colors. I can't find an idea on the web of what I want. But what does everyone think can I pull it off?

I'm no decorator, but I think it could be done, if it was done carefully. I think it would be best to pick a main color and use the two others as accent colors. IOW, no red stove, blue mixer, etc. Maybe major appliances in white, minor appliances (like mixers, toasters, blenders) in red, and then find red, white & blue, accents like towels and rugs?

I think that would be so cool! :) A friend of mine has 4th of July (Patriotic) stuff all over her house and another friend of mine has a red sink and thought that was pretty neat and it looks really good. :)

I, too, think it can be done. In fact, I think it would look GREAT! In addition to what everyone else has said - I would also consider the ROOM. . . ie size of your kitchen - what the adjoining rooms look like, the amount of light, etc etc.

But I think you could go more or less red, white & blue depending on all those factors.

TAKE PICTURES & POST THEM WHEN YOU ARE DONE!
