Interior Decorator issue

I won an interior decorator consultation ($150 value) at a silent auction for $35. I wasn't really thinking that I would win, but when I did, I was pretty juiced up about it. I called the lady a few weeks later and she was really rude and totally blew me off and told me she needed to call me back later and never did.
I know I need to call her again, she might have been having a bad evening and lost my number but every time I think about it it is 9 pm after the kids have gone to bed and it's too late.
So I guess I am wondering, if you knew your $150 value donation for a church went at an auction sold for $35 would you be ticked off and act rude like the decorator did to me or would you just do it and hope that I would pay for more services? I mean if she is great, I am ovbiously going to tell all my friends about her as well and I am hoping to do a few things. Especially if we hit our goal for the new business investment we made with Enjoy The City.
So am I worring about this too much or should I be annoyed. I did spend $35 :lol anyway, even though I guess I could just consider it a donation.

I own my own small business and have donated to three or four silent auctions. I donate an hour of free service from my business or two pet-sitting visits ($30 value). I have yet to have anyone actually call me about them! I know people have won the donations, but nobody ever calls to cash them in. It's weird. But I knew going in that I would be doing the work for "free" if I donated them. I considered it a donation to the charity on my part, and by donating, all the people at the auction saw my business's info and the winner could have turned in to a regular client or referred a friend. I was actually bummed none of the winners ever called!

Also, the int. designer just sold a CONSULTATION, if she had done a good job she could have gotten hired to actually do the work she would have consulted you about!! It seems unwise of her to blow off potential business like that!

I agree. I mean, it's not like she donated months of service! She should not have been rude to you. But I wouldn't call her back late at night though. I'd call during normal business hours and speak with her.

She chose to donate her services right? Then she needs to step up to the plate.

yikes. that's crazy.
I donated an $800 photography package to a silent auction and it ended up going for like $425. I just got a call from the girl who won it the other day and i'm STOKED to do their session. I can't imagine being rude to any customer though :(

I donate sessions all the time and never find out what they go for...so I doubt she has any idea

I"d hope that she's just having a rough day and forgot to call you back

I'd try her again.

She should have known that it could go for less. if that is why she is upset...I would keep calling until she showed up
