Going along with Shirelle's post...

I know someone who has switched her 4 month old from formula to regular whole milk! She says the formula he was on made him constipated and now that he is on milk he is fine. Ummm no! That's wheh you get with your pedi and find a formula that works for your baby. And this is exactly what I told her, she doesnt listen. I know cost isnt a factor because she is on WIC.

Can anyone help me come up with some links with information on the negative effects of this, so she can see for herself?

How scary. it's very clearly written everywhere that whole milk does not provide the nutrients of breastmilk or formula. Whole milk isn't even supposed to be given until they reach one:shake

Excellent article. I sent it to her and asked her to tell me what she thinks. Thank you. I cannot see anyone continuing to feed their baby milk after reading that.

DISCLAIMER-I know this sounds tacky, even as I type it.

I hate to even think that she might be able to sell the formula instead of using it- I heard that WIC moms can get up to 16 cans a month. Maby she needs the money? So sad.

Dont feel bad for thinking that, she's actually asked me to sell it for her on ebay before. I said no way am I condoning and contrbuting to that!!

BUT she read the article, said "Thanks for making me feel like crap!" and immediately made an appt with the pedi to discuss which type of formula the baby really needs for his tummy issues. So yay! Success! Good work ladies!
