Any good fabric stores around? If I can ever unearth my sewing machine and give it a tune up, I might try my hand at making some decorative pillows, maybe a holiday table runner. (Notice that it's all straight lines. :p ) I want to find a place that has "regular" cloth and maybe also find a place that has "upholstery" cloth. My DH's grandmother gave us a really cute chaise that is covered in the most hideous fabric.

There is a really nice fabric store near Preston and NW Hwy....I don't recall the name but I believe it is on Preston if you do a search. They may have a "clearance" area, but I recall just walking around stunned by the beautiful fabrics there. Might be a good place to get the ol' idea juices flowing.;)

My Sister-in-Law sews all the time and she has taken me to Cutting Corners ... I believe it is north of LBJ and west of the Tollway (maybe off of Midway - it's been a while). Apparently you can get some really good deals there and they have a pretty good selection of fabrics, trim, etc.
I bought fabric there to make some throw pillows for my sister - I just haven't found the time to get started.

Gia,
I do not know of a good fabric store for you but would like to tag along on your post.
I am searching for a fabric store that sells hemp or sherpa fabric to make doublers/washcloths for our cloth diaper system. Anyone know of a store that sells this type of material?
Thanks!

there is a place over off of 75 in plano called Boca Bargoons....it's supposed to have a huge variety of fabric (alot of it designer) at discount prices....it is a little ways past the mall on your left hand side....

Meredith, you'll only find that online, I've found.
I buy it in bulk from http://www.wildnwoolygoods.com/. I currently have 20yds. each of hemp fleece (like a trim sweatshirt --great for doublers/diapers) and hemp french terry (like baby towels/washcloths -- great for wipes) if you want to buy some off of me.

Cori, I would be interested in the hemp fleece to start off with if you think it would make a good doubler fabric. My friend might want some of your french terry if that is alright.
Do you have any wool material?
PM me with prices please!
