Recommendations.....and some bragging too

In Sept Lauren received some stick on alphabet letters for the bathtub (she didn't take to them but Ian DID). Ian could identify about 12 random alphabet letters in two weeks. Then I heard in early Oct a mom recommend the Fridge Phonics toy from LeapFrog and we got that for Ian along with some DVD's by LeapFrog called Letter Factory and Word Factory. In two more weeks Ian not only could identify every letter of the alphabet in random sequence BUT he could give the phonics sound for each one. Now he consistently get's them all correct. I am so proud! (and I sound like a rep for leapfrog now, but that FridgePhonics was what did it).

So thought I'd share our success story and a positive toy review too:)

I agree- I love the Leap Frog DVDs. :) We just got Letter Factory a few weeks ago because Julie recommended it to us, and it's amazing what Ashton has learned from it. She's getting Fridge Phonics for Christmas.

:upthumb I absolutely give my thumbs up to this one too! Ashleigh learned all of her letters and sounds from the DVD. Sounds like it is time for me to let Emma watch it more too! This was, for us, the quickest and most entertaining way for Ashleigh to be able to put the letters and sounds together in her mind.

Thanks for the plug on the fridge phonics, Julia! I have looked at those since Ashleigh was smaller and now I think I'll add one to ours! :thumb

Wow, I am going to have to check out these dvd's!
We have tons of Leapfrog toys, but Jacob is bored with them now. He's had them all for a really long time. :(
