If anyone knows of any good jobs full or part time around the Rockwall, Rowlett, and Garland area please let me know. I have been a SAHM as long as I can be. :( Now that we have a house we are not going to make it with only one income coming in. I also need to have a job with insurance in the next 6 months. I do data entry mostly. I have done it for 5 years so I am very good at it and very fast. I don't care for customer service jobs but I can handle some customer service. Any help would be so great! Thanks for taking the time to read ladies!! :)

Try UPS. They have offices all over the metroplex. My mother-in-law has worked for them for 20 years in the accounts dept. My husband also temped there when we first got married. The pay is steady, great insurance, and the shifts are not all 9-5 in case you have to work around your husband's schedule. If you go part-time anywhere, though, you may not be able to get insurance. Starbucks offers it's employees insurance and they too have staggered shifts, and are located everywhere. I had several friends that worked for that company for years and loved it.

We are actually looking for another assistant, but my job is far from you and probably not worth the drive. I work in Irving (NW Hwy & O'Connor).

Do you do 10 key? My DH pays the 10 key people very well (piece rate) in his office. The office is off Central and Fitzhugh, though....and I don't know if they are hiring. I can ask if you think you would be willing to make the drive.

PM me if you want further info of if I should pursue it with DH.:)

Also....check hospitals near you... they often need office people and since they are open 7 days a week and 24 hours a day, they can offer shifts that work well with families...:)

Thanks, I will check out UPS. I want to work Full time really if I can find something because I really want insurance. I just don't think Starbucks would pay what I really need but if I can't find anything else I might check them out.

Thanks ladies!! I applied at a few places yesterday online. I also PM a few of you. Hopefully something will come up. I am just a bit worried because Jakob has so many appointments still. In November he has 3 but I am sure we can work something out. If I have to maybe I can get family to help out with appointments if I get a job.

there is a family and medical leave act that should protect you and let you get him to all of his appointments.

UPS in mesquite is a huge facility, and they have a sign out front all the time looking for more employees. i know for a fact that they have night shifts if that would work out better for you.

www.narms.com always has jobs available, too. there are links on the left that will give you online training, but merchandising work is pretty much self-explanatory. if you can clean up after your kid and your husband, you can merchandise. click on employment, then search the job bank, then texas, and it will list new jobs that come in every day. full-time merchandisers are hard to find, so you shouldn't have a problem. i have gotten lots of part-time jobs through this website over the past 6 years, and i'm about to start another one tomorrow.

who will watch jakob? does he have any special needs that would prevent him from being in a regular daycare facility?

Thank you for the info. Jakob really doesn't have any special needs other then his therapy. We do have a babysitter. Our friends sister is already watching their little girl and we are going to take Jakob to her. She is pretty cheap too only $50 a week. And she isn't far away in Garland. Also I have talked with his therapist and they can go to her apartment and do his therapy there.

I don't know if it has changed, but when DH used to manage a warehouse, we hung out with a bunch of UPS employees and many of none of them were considered full time. They were all kept in a part time status so they couldn't get benefits. They all WANTED to work for UPS full time because the benefits were good, but some had been there 2-3 years waiting....

I went on their website. They do provided full benefits for part time employees and they pay for college too if you work there part time. They can fire you at any time though if your part time and it is hard to get on full time. I know a guy that has worked there for several years and he finally got on full time. I applied for a job there I can work at night part time and get full benefits. It would be great if they hire me cause then I could get two jobs and not worry about benefits with the other job so much.

I sent you a PM and I applied online on their site for a position. Sounds like a really good company to work for. Thanks for telling me about it. :)

I frequently look at the Baylor website for possible openings for my mom and I noticed there's an open position for and Admin. Asst. in the GI Lab at Baylor Garland. Go to www.baylorhealth.com and you can apply online.

Good Luck.

P.S. I also read where FEDex is doing a lot of hiring, but not sure where.
