I FINALLY made Kieran a flannel board. I was inspired again by a Veggie Tales video - Sumo of the Opera. They tell the story of St. Patrick with "Lutfi's Fanciful Flannelgraph." It's too cute and it motivated me. Now I'm addicted to it. I love making pieces and I'm getting all kinds of ideas for when I start my student teaching. I made two- one for my place and another for my parents (since he spends quite a bit of time over there). His pieces consists mostly of shapes and Elmo and Cookie Monster. Here are a couple of pictures. He loves it. He'll go open the baggie and sit and play with it for a good amount of time. :)

Funny you should post that now, we just started playing with a felt board here! It came in a felt art kit and it has some premade shapes as well as some pannels of felt and a felt board! Carissa enjoyed it but I haven't offered it to Colleen, yet. I must let her give it a try!
Thanks for sharing!

Oh! I had such fun making it!! I bought the foamboard at the craft store (I also heard that the material used for science fair project boards are good) and bought some flannel (I bought 2 yards I think and still have lots left over- I made 2 separate boards) and used duck tape on the back and voila. For the pieces, I used iron on transfer paper and scanned pages from coloring books and colored them using Microsoft Paint and printed them on the transfer and iron it onto white felt. So far that has worked the best. I can give a list of websites I used. Some people recommend using Pellon for the pieces, but I could never find the right grade of it for the pieces. I love using the coloring books- plus there are TONS of online coloring pages that I just save onto my computer and coloring that way... Anyways, hoped that helped.
