Does anyone have a favorite family recipe for sweet potato casserole with a marshmellow topping?

So what are you making for Thanksgiving?

can't help on the sweet potatoes, but i am in charge of the stuffing each year. my recipe is a little spicy with peppers and bacon and dried apricots, but it's so good. i'll try to remember to post the recipe later. i'll probably make a turkey, too.

The sweet potato casserole I like to make has a praline pecan topping (yum) but the one dh makes has marshmallows on it. I will ask him for his recipe and post it.

Okay, my husband has a "recipe" for sweet potatoes. He makes it every year, my grandma made a homemade recipe and no one touched it, and everyone ate his. His recpie is ridiculously easy.

Take a couple of cans of Sugary Sam Yams and fork mash them, throw in some nutmeg and cinnamon. Bake at 350 for about half an hour, and then put the marshmallows on top, and bake until they are brown. Couldn't be easier or taste yummier!

I am making a turkey (I think I will brine it this year), mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, homemade bread, and crumb topped apple pie. My dh always "makes" the sweet potatoes and cranberries ("making" cranberries includes laughing at that "slurp" sound that they make while coming out of the can).

We don't know yet if my Dad, brother, and sisters will be coming up from Houston or not, it might just be me, Michael, and Ethan for Thanksgiving again. If they do come, they will surely bring more food!

We had Thanksgiving last year at a friend's house. Her husband cooked and made the most wonderful sweet potatoes that were baked in orange halves. They were the best ones I have ever had by far. Faith (who was 14 months at the time) ate two of them!

If you'd like, I can email him and get him to send the recipe.

Rob says he just uses the recipe on the back of the marshmallows or can of yams.
