OPKs???

Anyone have experience using OPKs (ovulation predictor kits)? I am having trouble pinpointing ovulation each month, esp since my cycles are always different lengths. I have been temping, but due to working night shifts my temps look like the Rocky Mountains and I can never detect ovulation through temping.

Any suggestions on which brands are better and easy to use?

As long as you get a few hours of consecutive sleep, you should be able to get fairly accurate temps. Are you also charting your mucus patterns? That method can be more effective than temps anyway. For years the couple to couple league taught a mucus symptom only method. My NFP friends say that using NFP is more effective than the ovulation kits, but some people say they work. You can also check the position of your cervix to see when you are fertile.

One thing with your temps--some women get erratic temperature shifts because they sleep with light on. Even a little bit. Try sleeping in a completely dark room, or even wearing an eye mask. This seems to help with fertility---and eat your carrots! They will make your cervical mucus more fertile (vitamin A), and will make it easy to chart.
