Crib bumper pads

Kate keeps bumping her head on the crib poles. She's had been sleeping in the pack-n-play since 8 months old & is now in the crib so I never used the bumper pad with her. I can't remember but I thought we had to take those out once the baby could stand....thus me still not putting the bumper pad in the crib. But I feel so bad for Kate always hitting her head & then she wakes up crying. I have to get up & sooth her back to sleep. This happens several times a night.

Can I put the bumper pad on the crib? I just don't know if it's safe or not.

We kept Lexi's bumper pad in her crib until she was like 13 months. The only reason they say to take it out is because they can use it as something to step on and help them crawl over the rails. We just lowered Lexi's crib as low as it would go and left it in there. She would get her legs stuck in the rails int he middle of the night and start screaming. So if it was me, I would put one in there and make sure her crib is lowered. HTH

I would go ahead and put it the bumper pad in the crib. My son can stand, but we lowered the bed. I wouldn't worry about it so much but he moves around in his sleep alot, and gets his arms stuck in between the poles.

If it is waking her up I too say put in the bumper pad. I left Rebecca's in for a long time. I only took it out when I could not stand to deal with it any longer when changing her sheet. :) I tucked it about halfway down below the mattress. this may help to make it a little lower and not so much of a "step" for her. Rebecca to this day bangs her head on the sides of the crib but fortunately she does not wake up.
You could also purchase one of those met tents for the crib if you feel with the bumper pad in there she will climb out.

Glad to hear she is sleeping well. No more bumping her head! :)

Have you seen those "tent" things that go on top of the crib? My mother was worried about our cat (silly, I know) so we had one for a while. It keeps cats out...but it also keeps kids in. Carissa loved it...
Anyway, that would make the bumper less of an issue...;)
