First Mammogram...

Well, today I had my 1st mammogram. I've been having severe breast tenderness since about March of this year. My ob said it's probably hormones, but wanted me to have a mammogram just in case. So, I get to the office today and they tell me that they are going to give me a sonogram because of my age(don't know what that has to do with anything). I was glad they weren't going to put me through squishing my boobs between two platforms. The ultrasound technician says, "I have good news and bad news...we didn't find anything with the sonogram, but the radiologist wants to do a mammogram, also." Geeze, didn't get out of it! I've heard that usually a mammogram isn't painful, just uncomfortable. But, since my breasts have been really tender, it almost brought me to tears! Good news is...they found nothing with the 2nd test. Bad news is...if it is hormones, which it most likely is...they/I can't do anything about it. The doc told me to cut out all caffeine and take Vitamin E supplements. We'll see how that goes. Just wanted to vent. Thanks for listening/reading :)

Well I'm glad the test came back negative. Sorry about the soreness and hormones. So can you have caffeine free soda? :) Anyways, thanks for sharing with us.

We are here to listen to some venting. Glad we could help a little hopefully. I am also glad that everything is ok, Caffine free drinks aren't that bad. Sorry you had to be put in so much pain.

Thanks everyone. My ob referrred me to a breast specialist, so I'll see what she thinks about everything. I haven't stopped all caffeine intake just yet, I've been having my 1 cup of coffee in the morning until I go get some decaf. I've been dying for a glass of iced tea, though! Thanks for your support!

I usually try to avoid caffeine since it seems to affect my sleep patterns. I don't really notice much of a difference btwn. CF Coke & regular Coke, except that it's harder to find. And I'll make you some decaf iced tea next time you guys come over! :)

I'm glad everything turned out ok as far as the tests are concerned, and I hope the pain clears up soon!

Well, I'v been drinking cf Pepsi, which tastes the same as regular and I've also been drinking cf coffee and tea. So, we'll see how it turns out. I however, cannot go without my chocolate, though! lol

No, I can't get rid of chocolate! I pretend there isn't any caffeine in that. :) At least there doesn't seem to be enough in it to affect my sleeping patterns, so I don't worry about it.
