My right boob seems to make more milk than my left! When I pump, I can get about 4 oz out of my right in around 15 minutes. My left takes about 30 minutes to get about 2 oz. What am I doing wrong?

I have always gotten more out of my right boob then my left. Not sure why. I don't pump much anymore so I don't know for sure if its still the same. As long as your getting milk I wouldn't worry about it. Cori 08-04-2004 Wednesday, 11:43 AM Yep, perfectly normal, and nothing to worry about (unless your baby stops having enough wet/dry diapers or gaining weight). My right side produces more than my left. If you want to increase your left-side production, nurse and pump more often on that side. Shorter, more frequent pumps will help a lot more than one long session. But as long as you have milk, it doesn't matter which side it comes from! kimmykat 08-04-2004 Wednesday, 04:15 PM I think part of what bothers me is that my right boob is also bigger. I'm sure nobody notices unless they're staring, but I know it's uneven, and it bugs me, lol. I have to keep pumping b/c I stopped for a couple weeks, and then one night I wanted to go out, and when I tried to pump a bottle to leave at home, I couldn't get one. Once I started pumping everyday again, I was ok after a couple days. I do try to pump and feed more often on the left than the right, though. |
