What is in your flower bed?

Just curious what everyone has growing in their flowerbeds? Are your beds fresh or mature, or perhaps a little of both?

Ours are mature, I started them over 5 years ago. I do add some new things every Spring though. We have shrubs and dawrf nandena's on one side. We also have a bed of marigolds (around a tree and in our mailbox bed). In our main bed we have daisies, roses, blooming spider grass (forgot the real name), grape hyacinths, and dafodils. We also have a large deck, out back, surrounded by purple, white, and gold irises. I love it out there, it's beautiful. The irises were originally my Great G-Ma's and have been passed down to my G-Ma, Mom, and now me. So I'll be bringing some with me when I move. :)

David and I are actually going to the nursery today to do some planning and budgeting. The front of our house looks horrid with these scraggly bushes along the house. And there are lava rocks in the beds. I've been trying to talkl him into letting me do something with it. Looks like I've finally convinced him! I wanna price some gardenia bushes. I LOVE THE SMELL OF GARDENIA!!!
