I should start by saying I am not trying to conceive and am on Sprintec (generic for ortho cyclen). I take the pill about the same time every day with a little more lag if I sleep in on weekends.

Without tmi, DH and I were intimate several times last weekend. Around Tuesday, I felt...weird. My pelvic region didn't cramp/hurt. etc, but it felt weird...almost like a twinge. Soooo...I was a little paranoid but figure I wouldn't worry too terribly much about it since the "dancing" moments with DH occurred on days 18/19 of my cycle. I figured I would wait until my start date, and if I didn't start, worry about it then. No biggie.

On Thursday, I got home from work and realized I had not take my pill that morning. I took one then and then again in the morning (about a 12 hour difference). Still felt weird.

On Saturday, I still felt weird and started with a brownish/reddish discharge (sorry, tmi, I know). I'm not due for AF until thursday the 30th. So..I panic and try the hpt this morning and get a BFN.

From what I have read, if somehow I did conceive while on the pill on one of those 2 days, a positive result may not show up until day 28...soooooo, I will most likely test again on Thurs/Fri just to be sure, but wanted to know what people thought.

I suspect it is breakthrough bleeding, although I have never had the issue with the pill like that before. Plus, that doesn't explain why I still feel off, somehow. Maybe I am just way too darn paranoid!

Hard to tell. It could be BFP soon, but then it could be any number of other things. Paranoia and hope can create a ton of symptoms.
Good luck either way.

It sounds like it could be break through bleeding to me.

Girl....I dont' know either! But I can tell you that I got pregnant on the pill twice! (And I took it every single time!!! lol)
And so did a good friend of mine! So it very well could be a BFP later in the week. What test did you use?

Tough to tell...I would discontinue the pill in case you are.

I took a generic Kroger brand test. Nothing special!

Yeah...forgot to mention that! That is a good idea, just incase you are pregnant!
Take the first response! They are early tests! Was the Kroger brand and early testing one?

I doubt the Kroger ones are early response..I honestly didn't look that closely (brain fartish as that may be).

Well..now that you can see how clueless I am..I guess there is a difference in ability to detect on these tests?

(I admit, I am TTC ignorant...I wan't even considering children as an option until recently and still planned on ttc for another year so I could get myself informed!)

Try the First Response Early Testing Kit. This website has info on which tests are good and what some of the downfalls/errors are. http://www.peeonastick.com

Personally, I have had great luck with the generic tests from the grocery and the Equate Wal-Mart tests. I got a super-strong BFP at 11dpo w/the generic Tom Thumb test, not even first morning urine. And I used Equate for Leo, but I was much farther along. I know all those websites talk about sensitivity, but....

Well, welcome to my month of paranioa (sp?). Since both of my children have been conceived in March AND born in December...I am ULTRA paranoid during this month. I actually took two pregnancy tests already myself, because I was three days late....ended up starting on Friday and I NEVER EVER EVER start on a Friday. Ol witch, just had to come :mad

I was actually dissappointed to see negative results. Yes, it would have been almost comical to have three babies conceived in March and THREE babies born in December, but hey its a baby and its a blessing and dang it I had three full days to dream up our future! The only dissappointment I would have had is because I actually wanted to plan our next one for once :) . I agree that worry/hope do creat false symptoms...so although it is MAJORLY tough...you probably just need to wait and take another test AND of course inform us of what happens later this week!!

Sorry to hijack your thread....can you tell it has consumed my every thought this last week or what? :rolleyes

I've had good luck with the equate tests too--they are supposed to be pretty strong tests, I think. The Target test I took with Andrew gave me a BFN. Cori has a list around here of which tests detect the pg hormone the earliest.

BFN, which is good for now:)

Thanks to everyone for their advice.

I nearly drove myself crazy wanting to test everday...making myself wait was a pain. Funny though, even though we won't be trying until next year (trying to get some finances in order, so we can be bettter prepared for a little one), and A BFP would have been the Worst timing, I was a bit disappointed at the BFN. My heart goes out to everyone who is trying and gets that negative, and I am sending tons of baby vibes in all directions!
