We will.....we haven't done them yet, but we always get a little due to all the write-offs.

Normally, we don't or don't get much. We usually come out about even - which is what we have tried to do. This year though we are getting a big refund. Because we had Carissa in December.

Go, dependents, Go!

yeah, after waiting for a w2 that never came (still to this day) I just went online and paid 10$ to have it downloaded in a printable format. Totally worth it. Found out the return will be almost 3k more than we were hoping for.

Yeah, that's one of the things about self-employement! But actually, it works out pretty well in our favor, because we invest the money during the year, and actually make some good $$ off of it. I'd rather WE be making the interest off all that money throughout the year, rather than Uncle Sam.

I'd rather WE be making the interest off all that money throughout the year, rather than Uncle Sam. Very good point! DH always says that your money should work for YOU not for others or institutions.

No, we owe also-husband is considered self-employed. Wasn't too bad, but still sucks! Oh, and we tried Turbo Tax online, but had a problem so we had to send everything in through the mail! :( Something to do with dh's birthday. :rolleyes

Bonny, we're having the same problems with Turbo Tax. We corrected it AGAIN yesterday, so I really hope it accepts it this time--we really NEED that $4300! (gotta love the extra dependents!)

We are getting a good amount of money back! DH has the maximum taken out of his paycheck so that plus owning two houses for almost 7 months last year :crap helped us out quite a bit.

We had changed the amount my dh was getting taken out of his paychecks, but we're still getting a good refund.

Yeah we did too this year so that I could go back to school. We were so afraid that we would owe. We got back $2,300 because of daycare and school expenses. :) Not bad, but we usually get back over 6k because we like the lump sum at the first of the year.

Yes.

We'll pay off about 5k in bills and get a wooden swingset/playfort for the kids, a Dyson for me and a Cisco certification course for John, which will be reimbursed by his employer once completed.
