LPD??? What do you think?

Okay - maybe it is too soon to be concerned -but I am a bit worried since I am almost 34. We've just started trying this month, but I was sort of tracking last month. I came off BCP Oct 2, 2005.
Two cycles ago I thought I was pregers: I was tired -so tired, crazy hungry, had possible implantation bleeding and then AF came. AF arrived 9 days after my estimated O (based on CM) and was light for a few days and then really heavy. AF was around for a total of 10 days!! WOW!
So then we're going to try - but my temp spikes about a week before I was expecting and hadn't started using an OPK yet. But based on BBT and CM, I think I know when I O'd.
9 days later (totaling a 24 day cycle) - AF is back, my temps have droppeda ton, but not below coverline!
I haven't really been trying and I don't have a lot of data, but this seems a bit odd.
I happend to see my OBGYN for my annual last week and told her I was charting BBT and she said not to -it's too hard, confusing and frustrating, so I don't know if she will agree that I know when I O'd.
I've been reading on-line and they say most women have LPD for some cycles. But I think I might have been pregers last month and that's why AF was so long and heavy.
I don't know if to try changing a few things. I eat really healthyly -tons of whole grains and beans, I don't think adding B-6 will help.
Am I being worried for nothing?
I am going to have a self fulfilling LPD?
Should I call my doc on Monday? I think she is going to tell me it's too soon to be concerned -we haven't even begun really trying.

I'd say get a new ObGyn. Learning to chart BBTs takes about 5 mins and you need a couple of months worth of temps to learn how your body works. I'd take it as an insult if my doc said that it's too confusing. She either thinks you are stupid or is blowing you off (IMO and in my experience.) 2nd..eating healthy can ONLY help even if you don't get pg. It's so important to have your body healthy pre-pg. As far as not really trying...if you are having unprotected sex you are ttc..I don't care what anyone says (ok..well..unless they are like 16 or something!) At 34, if you are having unprotected sex and are wanting a baby, don't mess around with an uncommited doctor. It's time to get serious. As far as LPD goes...you need charts and tests to be sure. Again..I'd say go with your gut and get doctor that is committed. I'm not saying you need an RE but you need a doctor that is willing to answer your ??s w/o insult and give you some answers and suggestions. Not all of them will take the time. And you really need to buy Taking Charge of your Fertility...it's the fertility bible.

Best of luck.

My OBGYN isn't that bad - I don't think she is blowing me off, but she knows I have a tendency to over think stuff and obsesses -I am a type A+++++ and I think she just wants me to relax since it is early days yet. She knows I'll go crazy trying to figure out every blip in my charts. I'll call her on Monday and see how that goes.

I will probably start supplimenting my B-6. I just can't imagine that I'm not getting enough is all I meant. Seriously -all I eat is beans, bananas, fish, wild rice, chicken and nuts. Anyway, I'll add it.

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply - It helps so much to talk this out.

what about the progesterone cream? I posted some links in this (http://www.dallasareamoms.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20231) thread.

I would give your body 6 months after coming off of BCPs to regulate itself and then re-evaluate the situation. I would continue to chart your BBT and use the OPKs each cycle in the mean time. If you still feel that your cycles are messed up at the 6 month mark, then I would go back to your OB and discuss your concerns with her.

AND dont worry about your age! You still are young. I had my first at 34. Your 30's are a wonderful time to have kids..it is not late at all. I was off BC for about one year. I gave up and decided no more and the next month...bam. So dont worry so much ..and that comes from a type A too.

OK, just spoke to the nurse at the Doc's office and she said (as many of you did) that having just come off my BCP, she wouldn't worry too much, but watch it closely - keep dates and detailed notes, use the OPK strips every day after my period stops. If it doesn't settle down after 3-4 months, then I should come in for a visit.
Based on what you guys said and what I've found on other posts and on-line, I've started to take 50mg B-6, I have turned off the bathroom light that I used as a night light, and I will block the window where the street light shines in.
I don't know that I can wait 3-4 months however. If I see another month of 8-9 day LP then I will be calling for an appointment -because in my mind that's 3 in a row.
Of course next month will probably be 10 days and I won't know what to make of that!!!
Thanks for the input!!
