Anyone grow grape tomatoes?

We love grape tomatoes, & I'd love to have a garden with some. But we had done a little research on them a year ago which said they were very hard to grow. Does anyone have any experience with these?

Are they the same as cherry tomatoes? We grew them last year and they were really easy to grow! We added a little too much nitrogen, here and there (aged cow manure) so they got a little leggy and leafy, but the tomatoes still were abundant. I'd definitely try growing some!

my mom grows them all the time in their gardens out in mckinney (and yes that is gardenS! Tomatoe garden, pepper garden, herb garden, vegetable garden, just plain pretty gardens :D ) Needless to say, we reap a lot of benefits from it!!! Speaking of which, only another month or two before the fresh veggies start coming in!! YUM:shine

Steph, cherry tomatos and grape tomatos are different, but both very, very good! Whole Foods sells both varieties.

If I can find time after this baby's born, I'm going to be wanting some tutorials on gardening from you ladies!

once tomatoe season hits, my mom usually ends up giving away baskets of them because dad always plants too many and they can't do stuff with all of them. She already has a pantry full of jarred ones that she does every year, so I'll be sure and post when that happens so you guys can take whatever you want.

I'll have to check out growing grape tomatoes, too. They're not the pear-shaped little tomatoes, are they? I love those! especially the yellow ones. Mmmmm!

I have never heard of grape tomatoes! Do they look like little Roma's?

The official brand name (trademarked name...whatever) of them is Santa Tomatoes. They really are the size & shape of grapes, and they're usually found in small boxes in the same area as cherry tomatoes. I'm not all that fond of regular tomatoes (which is heresy if you're a Beasley!) but I do really like grape tomatoes. They're much sweeter and less pulpy than a regular tomato. We buy a big box about once a week at Sam's Club; they're more affordable there compared to most stores.
