What to do??

My best friend just found out today that the IVF did not work. She, of course, is very sad, and I'm not sure what to do. I've never been through IVF, but we did have fertility problems so I do know the disappointment of not being pregnant. I just don't know the disappointment of spending tons of money only to get a negative pregnancy test..Anyways, any suggestions? Should, I get her a card, take her dinner, or just let her mourn right now...Thanks in advance for any advice.

I'm not sure anything will really cheer her up, maybe just a card to let her know that you are thinking about her.

That has to be so devastating! I would say a card just to let her know you're there!

I did IVF. However, we were very lucky & became pregnant! I can't even imagine if it was a negative. If it were me, I think I would just want to be left to mourn.

a card and maybe flowers... flowers always cheer me up.

I would send her a card and a gift cert for a massage or pedicure or something to pamper herself. Plus I would call and let her know that you are there for her if she needs to talk.

I can't imagine the devastation of a BFN with IVF.

She is really sad, but I think she still has some hope. She had IVF 4 years ago, and it was unsuccesful, but then a few months later she became pregnant with her son. The dr.'s couldn't explain it. We believed it was the prayers. However, the 2 IVF's and the one pregnancy are the only 3 times in her life that they believe she has ovulated. I think she still has some hope just b/c of how things happened last time. I was the only one she was accepting phone calls from yesterday, but she didn't want to talk about the situation at all, just normal small talk.
