I think the time has come to add Moderators and form a STAFF! :bounce
So, if you are interested in moderating one of our forums, please pm me with the forums you are interested in moderating, listed in order of preference. I'll gather names and forum requests, then choose moderators.
Moderator duties will include:
Keeping the forum active- starting topics, hosting contests, etc.
Monitoring posts for anything inappropriate.
Moving posts to appropriate forums if posted in the wrong place.
Administrative tasks- editing thread titles when requested, etc.
Closing and deleting threads when necessary.
Maintaining appropriate "Sticky" threads (sticking new ones of interest, unsticking outdated ones).
And more- we'll figure it out as we go. ;)
Obviously, some forums will be easy to moderate and others will be more complex. Don't volunteer to moderate The Podium if you aren't willing to close or delete a thread when necessary. I need a couple of clear heads on that forum that can allow discussions to continue whenever possible, steer conversations back on topic, and take a stand and close a thread when necessary.
Applying does not guarantee a spot. Please be understanding if you are not chosen. I will consider several things when choosing moderators- how long you've been a member, how active you are, your posting history, etc. I need to be able to put complete trust in my moderators because I'll have to back you up when you make a tough choice in how a situation is handled. So, I am going to choose wisely. Please don't be offended.
