This was from my mother in law. We love it, as does anyone we fix it for.

Lasagna

Meat Sauce
1 lb ground beef
1 medium onion chopped
˝ clove garlic
16 oz can of tomatoes
8 oz can of tomato sauce
8 oz can of tomato paste
8 oz water
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp salt
1 tsp oregano

Cheese Sauce
1 small onion diced
2 tbs butter
2 tbs flour
2 cups milk
1 egg
1 cup parmesan cheese
1 dash salt
1 dash pepper

Other
1 box Lasagna Noodles
1 Package of grated mozzarella cheese

Meat Sauce

Brown meat and onion. Add rest of ingredients and simmer for 45 minutes.

Cheese Sauce

Sauté onion in 2 tbs butter. Add flour and mix well. Mix egg and milk together and add. Add cheese. Stir constantly until thickened.

Assemble

Cook Lasagna noodles and rinse.
Layer: Noodles, Grated Mozzarella Cheese, meat sauce, cheese sauce. Repeat. Sprinkle top layer with parsley if desired.

Bake
1 hour at 325 degrees. This will take longer if you put the lasagna in the oven without defrosting.

Tips:

I use 2 of the square foil tins for cakes. This is a good family size and always gives me one for now and one to freeze for later.
I put the tins on a cookie sheet before assembling for easy transfer to the freezer. Cover the top with foil before freezing, I also wait on the last layer of Mozzarella cheese until it is frozen or else it will melt and stick to the foil.

Thank you sooo much! It sounds delicious. Thanks for including freezer instructions. I'm learning how to freeze meals so this was very helpful. :) Thanks

And you know about the precooked noodles, right? The kind where you don't have to boil them first. You just put them in there crispy, and they soften up during cooking. IME, they work just fine.

My hubby makes his from scratch - including the noodles but I agree with Holly in that the precooked ones would be fine.

Noodles from scratch- how awesome is that! Maybe in the summer when I have more time. :lol

For now- precooked noodles for me.
