New SAHM of 2 in North Dallas

Hi there,

My name is Stephanie and I am a SAHM of 2. Austin (3.1/2) and Celia "CiCi" (20 months). I have been married for over 5 years to my wonderful husband Chris. We live in Far North Dallas off of Midway and Frankford, near the Dallas Tollway.

My hobbies include sewing, quilting, crafts, going to the movies, cooking, and anything that has to do with my family.

I am very active in a nonprofit group called Newborns In Need. I get to use my hobbies and skills as well as help our community. We make baby items for the babies born at Parkland Hospital. These items go home with the babies when they leave and it provides them with clothing, blankets and more. I love being a part of this organization so much.

Anyways, I look forward to getting to know some new moms here. We have only 1 car so I am kinda stuck here and don't have a lot of time to get out and meet other moms.

Looks like we have a lot in common. I'm Stephanie, SAHM to 2 year old son Ford, and one due in August. We live in far north Dallas, on Frankford between Coit and Preston (although we may be moving farther north soon). I love to sew, as well. We can probably chat more about that later, though, so far as I can help you with your volunteering--not sure I'm THAT skilled!

Hi Stephanie! I'm Meg, 26, and I have a son, Jackson, who is almost 19 mos. I like to knit, too, although I just learned before Jacks was born and am still at work on the project I started then (a baby blanket....haha) so I'm not sure I could contribute much to your group. Anyway, hope to meet you soon!

Thank you so much for the warm welcome. I really look forward to meeting some moms who like to do some of the same things as myself.

I would love to get together with some of you some time. Stephanie, do you ever take your little one to the Willow Bend Play area? My kids love it there and it gets me out the house. Maybe we could meet up there or something.

As far as helping the babies at Parkland, any skill level is welcome. We need people to sew, cut fabric, knit and more. We can talk about it later, but I will say that this is the one thing I have done in a long time that has given me a sense that I am making a difference.

MY DH took over as GM for the Guitar Center store here last year so we moved (with 48 hours notice!) from Austin last June.

Thought it was a VERY temp. move but it looks like we're staying for good, or at least a few years so I am always looking to find new friends to share my new world with!!!

You are doing better than me if you can sew a button on. I have a sewing machine that can do it for me and I still can not get it right.

So where do you live? I live the big apartments just north of Timberglen - Amli of North Dallas. We have lived here for almost 4 years and we are finally looking at buying a house. My hope is that we will never have to sign another lease here again.

Anyways, maybe we can get together. Thanks for the welcome.
