Well, with the cold weather, I'm looking for places to take Josh other than mall playareas. I've thought of the Dallas World Aquarium & the regular Dallas Aquarium. Also, we haven't been to a Barnes & Noble storytime yet, and I was thinking of trying that. Any other suggestions?

What cold weather?!
We have been busy doing outside stuff because of the WARM weather!
I am not a big fan of the B&N storytimes. Let me know if you find one that is appropriate for toddlers! (I have been to the one at Stonebriar and the one at Park/Preston)
We are members of the zoo and world aquarium. My kids love both.
The science place is awesome....I used to be a member when Alex was small.
Even Caroline likes Chuck E Cheese...a great spot in a pinch.
The girls also take a gymnastics class and Caroline is taking swim lessons. During the fall they had a music class, but it didn't make this session (we were pretty strapped for times that we could sign up for!)
Have you taken him to Northpark? There isn't a play area, but there are ducks to look at, a great fountain, and a choo-choo to ride.
Good luck! I thoroughly peruse Dallas Child every month to see what I can do with them!

I realize it hasn't been cold yet, but my husband keeps reminding me it's supposed to get cold next week. I figured I'd start collecting ideas in case he's right. :D We haven't had a chance to get to a park over the last couple of days, so we've been playing in our backyard. He's really enjoyed that, but that won't work when it's raining.
Thanks for the suggestions!

Chris, let me know when you want to go to the zoo. I've been flaking on going lately because I've just been too queazy to drive that far and brave the unexpected all alone. Now that I'm getting a little better (and not contagious), I'm ready to go. Even in really cold weather, the zoo is so buffered and has several indoor places to visit: the yellow discovery house, the nature exchange, the reptiles, and a new food court. That's plenty to do in a morning, from experience. Best of all, you can combine it with a train trip (if you''re up for it) to complete the package.

You're right, Stephanie. You know, I hadn't even visited the indoor reptile & bird area until my last zoo visit. There's still a lot I haven't seen there. And I have a coupon to use for the new restaurant that will expire by the end of February, so I need to go before then. Maybe in the next week or two?

Guys, don't forget wonderful Owens Farm in Richardson. It's free! :)
And completely outdoors, so bundle up if it's cool.
