singinmama 01-09-2004 Friday, 04:28 PM We were a little surprised on Sunday when my water broke and we ended up going to the hospital to have a baby (3 weeks early) instead of going to the movies. But Oh what a wonderful surprise!
Isabella Lacy was born January 5, 2004 at 3:09am weighing 5lbs 15oz and measuring 19 inches long. Mommy, Daddy and Isabella are all home and recovering nicely.
I had a WONDERFUL labor with the best epidural. I could feel pressure and move my legs but felt NO PAIN! Gotta love modern medicine.

Bonny 01-09-2004 Friday, 05:20 PM Congratulations!! What a sweet little baby-awwww!!!:love
You look great too, so sweet holding that little girl! I agree with the whole wonderful epidural part. With Tristan it didnt take all the way or something, so I felt a lot, but with my second, it was wonderful. No pain after I got it and I talked through the whole thing. Wonderful! Congrats again and welcome home! :balloons
Carol 01-09-2004 Friday, 05:43 PM Congratulations!! I'm glad to hear you're all doing well.
S&co. 01-09-2004 Friday, 05:43 PM Congratulations! What a sweet picture of the two of you! I, too, loved having an epidural the first time. I was able to enjoy all of the labor, and listen to the OB, and watch my husband sweat! It was great! My anesthesiologist was a hero that day, for helping me so much.
TeriMomof4 01-09-2004 Friday, 05:55 PM Congratulations! Boy, you snuck that one right in there!
I TRIED to get an epidural with the first one, but it never took. The last 3, I said forget it unless it looks I am going to be in labor a really long time. They were all 2-4 hours, so I never would have benefitted. Also, only got an episiotomy with the first one. I was so miserable with it that I told my doctors to do absolutely everything possible to avoid having to cut me...and they did! I never had another one.
I am so glad you are home and doing well!

singinmama 01-11-2004 Sunday, 11:14 AM Thanks for all the wonderful notes! I feel great, have not taken any pain meds since leaving the hospital on Wednesday morning. Of course, I didn't tear or have to be cut so I'm ahead of the game. Lucky for my she wasn't nearly as big as the Dr predicted! She's been a little jaundiced so we had to have her in a billy blanket for the last couple of days but should be able to take her off on Monday. I'm just glad we were able to take her home and not have to leave her there under the lights. The miracles of modern medicine!!
Now I can come to the play groups! I can't wait to meet all of you and your little ones!
"Didn't you go to SMU & study voice? You look so familiar!!!"
