My student's piano recital is coming up, and I want to send them home with a little holiday treat. I was thinking of something easy that I can make in a big batch, then put in individual bags for the kids. Something along the ideas of like a chex mix, but sweet. Any ideas?

You can do chex mix, just add some red/green holiday M&Ms for color. ;)

No bake cookies are the best!
cheap, fast and makes lots. I prefer non-labor intensive treats, lol

Here is a holiday favorite from around here....
5 cups of corn chex
2 bags of popped microwave popcorn...the natural stuff
1 1/2 cups of dry roasted peanuts (which you could of course leave out if necessary)
1 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 bag of chocolate chips or holiday m&m's work work too
1 pkg white fudge covered pretzels (although I can never seem to find these when I need them...or even the fudge covered ones)

Preheat oven to 250. Greast a large roasting pan

Mix cereal, popcorn and peanuts in a large bowl and put into roasting pan.

Combine brown sugar, butter and corn syrup in medium, heavy duty saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat stirring constantly. Boil, without stirring for 5 minutes. remove from heat; stir in vanilla and baking soda. Pour evenly over cereal mixture, stir to coat evenly.

Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. Cool completely in pan, stirring frequently to break apart mixture. Stir in chocolate chips (or m&m's) and pretzels.

This is incredibly popular at my house!:D

Bacon & Eggs
-------------

1 package of salted pretzil sticks
1 package white bark
Yellow M&Ms

On waxed paper, place 2 pretzil sticks in a small 'V' shape. Melt bark in microwave according to directions then drop by spoonfuls over & between the pretzils. Quickly add the yellow M&M in the middle of the white to be the yolk. Don't move the treat for atleast an hour while the bark is hardening! There, done!

This yummy treat is ALWAYS a hit among young and old. Have your kiddo help by sorting out the yellow M&Ms. :)

You could do rice cripsy treats and put extra candies/chex mix/whatever in with the marshmallow goo.

How about chocolate covered pretzels? I made some this morning~melted the white choc in the microwave, dumped some pretzels in the choc & then got them out & sprinkled red & green sugar on them...They are VERY easy & festive...Best combo sweet & saltly...Oh, I used the little twisted ones...:thumb

There's an easy recipe for Teddy Bear Crunch in one of my cookbooks. It's a no-cook recipe and you just combine Teddy Grahams, honey nut Cheerios, honey roasted or chocolate covered peanuts and...something else I'm forgetting! :lol I gave some of it in bags to Fred's coworkers last Christmas.
