Software

What software do you use and why do you like it?

I ask because I'm nosy and because...I have PS CS. I also have Photoshop Elements 2.0. I am a dummy when it comes to using CS. But my dh(software engineer & nerd) is going to get a new computer(he gets one regularly due to his contract work) and give me his old one (which is new but it is faster and has more storage than my laptop). I am going to use the desktop computer for doing my pictures and digi scrapbooking only. I would like to get a software program that I will enjoy and that is really good for working with photos. Or should I just stick with the software I have...TIA

IMO, you just can't get any better than PS CS. Well, unless you have PS CS2. ;) Other programs are a bit more user friendly, but I think PS is best once you get used to it. Just play around- you'll get the hang of it. The first time I did anything with PS was a year ago, and I've learned a ton over the past year.

Agreed. It takes a while to get the hang of it, but it's so worth it. It doesn't really get any better than PS CS, or CS2.

ok...well I just thought that there might be something better or "easier" but if that is the best, then I'll just keep working with it!

www.lynda.com has some great video tutorials. There are some free ones to give you an idea of how it works, but the rest you get with a subscription (25/month)

Thanks! I bought CS on a whim...I had already gotten used to the other programs and when I started tryign to figure out CS, I was just lost. I've checked on the lynda site and I'm going to try it out!
