Diaper Bag

I'm looking for a good one. I would like one with a couple of different sections, the one I use now is just like a huge sack and things keep getting lost in there! (Like my keys when I want to open the car!)

Anyone have one that they love?

I've found one that I like, but not sure that it's worth its price. Looking for ideas!

Mara,
I paid $70 for mine a couple of years ago and it has been great. I bought it from One Step Ahead. It is their backpack one. It has lots of zippered pockets on the outside and two insulated pockets that are great for cups/bottles. It still looks great.
It took a while for me to figure out what I really needed in a diaper bag though. When number 2 came, I needed so much more stuff...now there are 3 of them!

My mom gave me one from Lands End when Tristan was a baby that worked great too. www.landsend.com :)

I love my Timbuktu bag, and you can design your own online at www.timbuktu.com

They don't really look like diaper bags, since they were designed by messenger guys (who ride bikes instead of cars) in San Francisco, but they're tough (you can wash them repeatedly), come in different fabrics, and have amenities like:
-cord with attachment for keys (you just pull the string and up come your keys)
-coin purse
-big section for diapers, wipes and clothes
-sections for makeup, sunglasses, and a narrow one for thermometers and pens
-optional cell phone case
-optional strap pad
-ergonomic (I use mine over the shoulder. You can sit your tot on the bag when it's held this way, so it almost acts like a tot-seat to pull weight off your hip)

You might like them, but they are a little urban in design.
Good luck finding the right bag!

Hi,

We've got a Coach bag which I LOVE. It is large enough to carry stuff for both my boys. It also comes with a HUGE diaper changing pad and it's own case. For smaller, quicker trips I have a Land's End Little Tripper. This bag is tough and I have plenty of room to store the essentials.
If you are looking for a diaper bag that isn't "boring" but reasonably priced and can be custom made, try one of these sites:
www.bubblegumbags.com
www.ellabags.com
or surf EBay. Plenty of WAHM's to support on there! :)

I'm in love my Peg Perego baby bag. I bought it 3 years ago at Babies R US for like $50 and it is still just a great as it was when it was new. High Quality and Durability. Plus the straps are so comfortable and were the only ones that would sit on my shoulder without falling off. I love it and it will still be around for my next little girl due in the fall.

i keep a diaper basket in the car instead of carrying a diaper bag. when we go someplace i throw a diaper, cover and washcloth into my backpack. if we're going to be somewhere for a while, i've got a few toys, a clean bottle, teething tablets, fresh outfit, etc all in the basket. i get sick of lugging everything around with me. i read about this on the flylady website somewhere, and i finally decided to give it a try when stella was born. wish i'd thought of it long before!

I do the basket in the car as well. Especially nice for a long day. I put the emergency type stuff in there--paper towels, extra diapers, extra clothing, medicine, toys, etc. That way I just carry a diaper, sippy cup, and my own stuff in the diaper bag. BTW my diaper bag is by Nine West--given to me by my SIL (used). I don't like it, but I won't buy another one. It looks cute, but its not very functional. It has the fold over closure instead of zipping, and things tend to fall out. I wouldn't recommend a soft messenger-type bag to anyone looking for a diaper bag. One with sturdier sides is better for holding a lot of stuff.

I have a diaper/wipes bag in the car w/ two bins also full of bacterial wipes, toys, emergency kit, extra clothes, paper towels, etc.

My diaper bag is a small, sporty backpack from Walmart for $10. It was 4 pockets in the front to carry cell phone, small wallet, garage door opener, keys & makeup. Inside there is area for a bag of at least 4 bottles, bag of formula, bibs, snacks & a compartment for a bag of wipes & 3 diapers for each child.
