For all you PhotoShop geniuses .... Can I edit some of the blur out? Shirelle 11-06-2005 Sunday, 04:44 PM What a wonderful day!! Did you journal the day for her and yourself? :) That's such a great idea! I will do that! :love She was such a trooper - woke up with a fever, has this terrible cough, but wouldn't miss this day for the world! I'm so proud of her! :love angie 11-06-2005 Sunday, 10:16 PM How wonderful ~ What a great day for her. Carol 11-06-2005 Sunday, 11:11 PM Congratulations! amyjoe 11-06-2005 Sunday, 11:13 PM That's so great, Julie! May God grant her many years! JulieS 11-06-2005 Sunday, 11:58 PM This was how I journaled it. I'm not that great with words, but I tried. :) My little girl was baptized today. I can't even express how proud I am of her. Ashleigh is just turning into her own unique little person, and I am so proud that God is already touching her heart. http://www.dallasareamoms.com/sample/images/smilies/love.gif When I took this picture (forgive the blur!), Ashleigh had been sitting on the stair, then got up, then sat down, then got up, etc... This is where she finally seemed to calm down, and just stood there, seeming way too grown up to be my little girl. Looking at her from behind, and seeing the baptistry in front of her and the pastor on the other side was almost symbolic in meaning to me. This one decision has opened up a whole new world for her - and it's one I'm so proud of - knowing she'll never make a more important decision in her lifetime. God is good!!! http://www.dallasareamoms.com/sample/Ashleigh's%20Baptism%20Waiting.jpg ETA: I thought I would add a couple of things before I forgot them. Our Associate Pastor, Eddie Humphrey is who baptized Ashleigh today. The two got together and talked before the service, and he seemed surprised that Ashleigh knew that Jesus was baptized in a lake. Well, it was a river, I guess, but she called it a lake. They talked about whether or not the water would be warm or cold, and he admitted that he stuck his finger in it this morning to make sure it was warm for them. http://www.dallasareamoms.com/sample/images/smilies/wink.gif He asked Ashleigh if she had any questions for him, but she said no. She was ready for this. I think all of the one on one talking was making her nervous. She didn't like everyone staring at her. http://www.dallasareamoms.com/sample/images/smilies/biggrin.gif She wouldn't even let me help her get into the baptismal gown. She wanted to do it all on her own. It's so hard to admit that my girls are growing up right in front of me! Most of all though, I will remember that she felt pretty crummy this morning. She was running a low temp, and just looked like she didn't feel great. But she wasn't going to miss this for anything! I can only imagine the importance it had to her - I know it did me too. Ok - I'll quit bragging now - but I'm so proud! http://www.dallasareamoms.com/sample/images/smilies/love.gif Chera25 11-07-2005 Monday, 01:34 AM That's wonderful!
