Kyle tested positive for the Strand A flu Monday which they said was most likely H1N1. Now Kirstyn is running a fever. I'm hoping the rest of us don't get it.

The pediatrician won't treat Kirstyn w/ the Tamaflu because she is over 5 and she doesn't have any medical conditions so I'm taking her to my dr. They said if she tested positive that they would give it to her. I was upset that the peciatrician said that but atleast I have a dr that will help.

No I haven't. I will ask the dr about it tomottow. Thanks

I think it's like Tamiflu in that you need to take it right away. You can get it at Whole Foods (and other places that sell homeopathics).

I believe this is what we've had but no fever over 101.8 and fluctuates down to 100.5 with Motrin. However I'm not going to a doctors office unless we present with breathing issues. I don't like to be around sick people unless it's absolutely necessary and things become alarming (rapid breathing etc..). Doctors office can't really do anything, i would go to an ER actually.

Ian's been home three days now. With fever for nearly four days. Fever broke early this a.m. so I'm sending him to school tomorrow. Only other symptom we had was tired, headache and a couple episodes of the "runs".

Appetite and activity level was still pretty good. no vomiting so I didn't have to worry about dehydration.

I'm expecting Lauren to be next.

This is definitely milder then Flu A so far.

We chose not to go the tamaflu route, for various reasons. Instead we put ds on Oscillococcinum and it worked magically for him. Also, a good choice would be Gelsemium.

Oscillococcinum you can get at CVS at Walgreens. Gelsemium would be more whole foods, sprouts, herb shops.
