Hello- I had my 2nd c-section 8 weeks ago and the recovery period was going smoothly up until week 6. That's when I started doing some yoga (mostly stretches and some twists but I did try to do a few sit ups). I also had to carry my 2 1/2 year old from daycare to the car because of the rain. For the last two weeks I've had pain on my left side above the incision. It's the same kind of burning/pulling you have right after surgery. I went to the dr. and felt put off. He told me to wait another week or two. Anyone else have this happen? I'm feeling so frustrated. My maternity leave is almost up and I don't feel like I've healed!!

I didn't feel normal for six months. I think your trying to do too much, too soon. Take it easy and use a natural oil on your incision to help it in healing. It will pull, pinch, itch and burn - it's skin that is healing from the inside out. Moisturize twice a day and maybe modify your workout for another month.

:yeah Think about all the nerves that were severed during surgery. It's going to feel funny for a long time! But you have to listen to your body. If you don't feel right go back in a week & tell your dr. again.

are you able to get short term disability to lengthen your maternity leave?
:hug2
recovering from major surgery is a really long process, even if we look fine from the outside, things are still totally re-growing on the inside.
those muscles have been through a LOT!

I'm 6.5 mos out and my bruise above the incision is just now starting to fade. The bruising below was pretty much healed 5-6wks pp. I still have some numbness when I itch and tons of itching whith hair growth. I guess it's normal to take a century to heal from c sections ;) Or my nerve regeneration is extremely sloooooooooooooooooooow.

Thanks everyone for the support! I'm going to try acupuncture this weekend and will let you know if it helps. In the meantime I'm trying to take it easy...not a simple task :)

Yeah, the recovery from my 2nd c/s was much more lengthy and difficult than my first. It took me several months to get it back together, although I went back to work after 8 weeks.
