Cori 03-17-2009 Tuesday, 02:42 PM Just a quick update on me. 37 weeks and change, and I'm having fun nesting (read: spending money getting ready for baby. ;))
In the past week, we got a changing table along with new appliances for the kitchen (range/dishwasher/microwave)!!! Thanks to my husband making his first sale of his software that he's been working on for the last year!
Chris and Jeffrey built the changing table this weekend, and the appliances are being delivered on Thursday. So, send some no labor vibes Thursday afternoon, please! Can't have a homebirth while they are delivering and installing my new appliances :giggle.
Got the last of the diapers delivered today while Elizabeth was over shooting maternity pictures. My avatar is a snapshot that Chris got with his iPhone while Elizabeth was taking the real pictures! Oh, and thank you again, Elizabeth for answering the door for the UPS man since I was wrapped in only a sheer gauzy sheet. :o
Feeling good for the most part. Certainly feeling more tired this week... and I've started to feel some crampy contractions in my cervix at the end of each day. Never had that in previous pregnancies until I was in early labor. So that's new. And my husband will tell you that I've become a lot more b****y here the last 2 days. :giggle
Got our homebirth supplies ready. Set-up the birth tub, and will jump in that tonight for a nice bubbly soak.
Still need to do the taxes and wash all the diapers/outfits before baby comes. And we need to stock up on good labor snacking food and some good champagne and OJ for after the birth.
But, I finally feel like we're *almost* ready!
SachseAmy 03-17-2009 Tuesday, 02:47 PM :woohoo Sounds like you're almost ready!! Can't wait to see the maternity pictures! :)
Alison79 03-17-2009 Tuesday, 02:50 PM Love the changing table - gorgeous! I predict that labor will begin right after you sign those tax forms ;) I'm so excited to meet your little one :love
christineb 03-17-2009 Tuesday, 02:54 PM Hoping for you to wait until at least Friday morning (but surely it will later than that, no?). Best of luck as you enter the final stretch!
mamabear3 03-17-2009 Tuesday, 03:00 PM Don't forget the gardening pads for kneeling!!
And can I just say, I don't know how it is possible for someone to look so smokin hot as Cori does preggos. You are gorgeous!! I am picking my sneak peaks now. How much can I show? LOL! ;)
RenCareBear 03-17-2009 Tuesday, 03:05 PM WOW, your pregnacy has flown by!!! I love your changing table. Where did you find the baskets? Can't wait to see you pictures, I bet they turned out wonderful!

Jewel6599 03-17-2009 Tuesday, 03:09 PM Can't wait to see the pics, and I agree - didn't you just announce that you were pregnant???
roasten 03-17-2009 Tuesday, 03:17 PM Wow! You're so organized. You're diapers and accessories are so cute!
KatrinaMarie 03-17-2009 Tuesday, 03:19 PM LOVE the changing table. It's gorgeous. I wonder what the delivery guys would say if you happened to be in labor when they were setting your new appliances up. lol :P
Maria 03-17-2009 Tuesday, 03:24 PM I can't wait to see your photos as well! Have you gone early with your boys? That would be pretty funny if you went into labor during the new appliance installation. Those guys would probably get things done very quickly so they could get out of there!
Meg 03-17-2009 Tuesday, 03:32 PM You're so close, Cori! Yay baby! :banana
brittneyleahc 03-17-2009 Tuesday, 03:51 PM I can't believe it is almost time!! It seems like it wasn't that long ago that you announced your pregnancy!!! WOW.
Can't wait to see some of the sneak peeks of your maternity shots (hint, hint, post a sneak peek! :giggle).
Setting up the birth tub brings back such good memories (the boys and I had a lot of fun playing in ours the weeks before the birth! :lol). :love
Cori 03-17-2009 Tuesday, 03:52 PM And can I just say, I don't know how it is possible for someone to look so smokin hot as Cori does preggos. You are gorgeous!! I am picking my sneak peaks now. How much can I show? LOL!
Aww, thanks. And yeah, I'm not too shy. ;) I know Chris would LOVE a sneak peak tonight of the ones he doesn't know about. :giggle
Where did you find the baskets?
Pottery Barn Kids. They are the large Sabrina baskets in espresso, with large basket liners in celery dots and gingham.
Have you gone early with your boys?
Late with Julian, and 39 and a few days with River. If I had to guess, I'd say we're looking at another babe before my due date, though. Especially with the crampy contractions each night, and the b****y fiesty things that just spew out of me the last couple days :bag. If I had my way, I'd wish for labor on the 24th, and birthing early on the 25th... as both those days have some special meaning for me. But, we're also thinking April Fools would be right in line with our family's personalities. ;) I just feel this one might be more along the 38-39 week timeframe. We'll see!
artzy_fartzy68 03-17-2009 Tuesday, 03:58 PM Yay!! Very soon!!
I love looking in your baskets of diapers! I kept going, hey, I have that! and THAT! and those!! ha ha!

Laurette 03-17-2009 Tuesday, 05:06 PM Oh Cori! I love your changing table! Gorgeous... And I hope you post those maternity photos as I am sure they are fabulous! Pregnancy really agrees with you!
PS, you need to PREP those prefolds! Boiling works great!
Cori 03-17-2009 Tuesday, 05:13 PM Oh, how funny! I was *JUST* emailing you a link to this thread, Laurette.
PS, you need to PREP those prefolds! Boiling works great!
That's on the to-do list! I just had them delivered today, and had to "pose" them in the picture first. But, I'll be prepping them tomorrow.
Laurette 03-17-2009 Tuesday, 05:23 PM With the way you told me your babies grow s/he may outgrow those oranges quick. Lilly only wore them for about two...maybe three weeks. Do you have the next size up too?
Cori 03-17-2009 Tuesday, 05:26 PM Do you have the next size up too?
Yes, sure do!
I just hated the way the infant prefolds overpowered River for the first few weeks, so I thought it was worth it to get the orange-sized this time... especially since I can use them for doublers, burp rags, whatever, after baby outgrows them.
Laurette 03-17-2009 Tuesday, 05:29 PM Deffinatly worth it, just really nice to have the next size ready to go when they need them.
I actually used premiee prefolds on Lilly for the first few days until my milk came in and she started peeing every 5 minutes. lol Little girls have no room between their legs and the premiees were the only diapers that looked comfy on her.
Well, I guess I only have a pic of her in the orange edge...

And I love that changing table, where did you get it??
Pottery Barn Kids (it's not on their website currently). The Knox-Henderson store had one on display, and when my husband went to order it, the sales guy said none of the DFW stores had it in stock, and wouldn't until July or so. Then he took one look at my belly, looked at my husband, and said, "Ah, and that obviously won't work... so we WILL figure out a solution for you. Just give me a couple minutes" :giggle The sales guy had that look on his face of "Man, I've BTDT, had the 9-month pregnant wife that WANTS something, and the word NO doesn't fly with hormonal nesting women, so I'm gonna help you out." :giggle He literally had a phone in each hand and as he was calling various stores around the region. They had it shipped to us from New Orleans. :D
It feels like no time since River was born.
I KNOW! I can't believe my baby is FIVE!
Danea 03-18-2009 Wednesday, 09:37 AM What a great salesman ;)
And holy cow girl those photos are gorgeous, I :love love :love the first one!!
