I started watching in season one, and I was hooked! This is my favorite show. Season four premieres next Tuesday! Whoo hoo! :D

Definately not!

I started watching in first season also... My TIVO is programmed and ready. I can't wait! Although apparently, Luke married his Girlfriend over the summer. That'll teach Lorelei to ignore Destiny!

I would love to get a Tivo! Oh well, maybe in the future.

Yay, another GG watcher! :) Yes, they did get married. I'm pretty bad about reading the spoilers on one of the fansites. But there's more to the story than just the marriage. I'm keeping my mouth shut about details!

Favorite character? Mine's Paris; I love the way she & Rory verbally spar. She'll be back this season, too. :D

I am a fan, but not an advid one. My DH does not like this show. I love the relationship between the mother and daughter, but my DH says it is wrong. It is not how a mother and daughter should be. I am still working on him though. Not sure how they are going to do the next season with her going off to college.

I agree that I don't think the relationship btwn. Lorelei & Rory is terribly realistic. I don't really see that a kid like Rory could have turned out the way she did with Lorelei as her mom. (Rory is quiet, prim & proper at times, and I don't ever see that quality in her mom.)

But my husband enjoys the show & we watch it together.

I love the Gilmore Girls and later in the season Jess is suppose to have his own show as well. It will be about him living in Venice Beach with his father. :) My fav characters are Sookie and Lynn. My dh and I watch together and he thinks Lorelei and Rory are annoying when they are together...:)

I definitely feel like i wtch too much tv now that I have responded to some of these posts :p But hey, with 3 Kiddos under the age of 5, you have to get down time any way you can right :D . I too love the Gilmore girls, but your right there is no way Rori would have ended up so great in real life. I can't wait for the premeire.

Jeni, I hate to say it, but Jess's spinoff got shelved. I guess they could always do it as a mid season thing, but as of now there are no plans to air it.

And since Milo isn't under contract to the WB, we may not see the Jess character return, either!

Darn!!! I read somewhere that they were gonna do it midseason, so I was counting on that. :( Oh well! I know Jess was the bad guy, but most girls go for the bad guy! :cool Don't tell my daughters, though!!

I found Jess. He isnow a punk kid on Boston Public on Friday nights at 8:00. I personally didn't like him and I still don't. But for those of you who were wondering what happened to him, here he is.

I take it back. He plays a NARC on this show. So I guess he might be kinda cool.

Is it just me or did the writers go a little nutty....

Luke gets married spur of the moment and is now getting a divorce?

And I think it's about time that Lorelei give in a little to her mom without "having" too. It's obvious her mother is going to go to great lengths to have her over without asking her or telling her that she wants to see her. I thought it was great that she stayed and watched the ballroom dancing. Top it off... she should have just told her mother why she wasnt there instead of making it worse.

Maybe Rory is all prim and proper as a sort of Rebellion to her mom?

I also think Lorelei really steps up when necessary. Ie When they went to the Bangles concert and she hunted down those 2 girls that ran off.

No matter what I just love her quick and witty banter!

Yeah, the whole Getting Married/Getting Divorced thing was a bit too soap opera-ish for me. ;) But, as usual, they played it to the hilt in the commercials. It seems they're always taking lines of dialog out of context in the commercials in order to get people to tune in. Like they'd need to do that with me! :)

I've always thought that they do a great job with the Emily Gilmore character. Even though she is thought of as the antichrist by her daughter, you can see a real person under there trying to connect with Lorelei.

Next week is the return of Paris! :D I think Dean will be back pretty soon, too. (Only in 1 episode, though.)

Also, I just read on TV Guide's online site that Jess will be back later this season, and that they're thinking of introducing his mother.

Thumbs up for Jess returning later in the season! I also saw Milo on Boston Public Friday.
I agree that Lorelei steps up when she has to, she just hasn't had to that often since Rory is almost perfect. I think their relationship is somewhat realistic in a couple of ways. Single parents often have a very strong bond with their children and often it is more of a friendship as well. I think Lorelei has been very careful about not having men around Rory while she was growing up. She went from being a pregnant teen to being independent and having a successful career. Now she is the co-owner of a business. (or soon to be business)
I wish Rory would have an exciting relationship with a guy. IMO, with Dean, it was really boring. I think her relationship with Jess could have been a lot of fun, but I don't think they did a good job of showing that. It just went from one extreme to another. I loved the day that Rory skipped school to get on a city bus and go see Jess. I know that was horrible, but the girl had to be a little rebellious at least once. ;) I am so glad the new season is underway!

The relationship with Dean was a bit ho-hum, but he was very sweet. At first they clicked but then it seemed like they didn't have some things in common. I did think that when they started to introduce Jess's character, that he seemed better suited to Rory in a way. But I was sorry to see Dean go. And the whole Dean-getting-married thing is kind of a shocker!

I'm sure I can't be the only one who didn't guess that Sookie would have a boy. Shows always seem to do that: Sherry had a girl, so the next baby on the show was a boy. They did the same thing on Friends: Ross already had a son, so Rachel had to have a girl. Predictable.

Looking forward to more Paris fun tomorrow. :D I'd like to see Brad make an appearance; I always enjoyed when Paris needled Brad (although I did feel sorry for him).
